Target: January

I've completed one week of SIM training and I have a plan for the rest of my pre-field preparation! Hallelujah! I'm waiting for approvals but I'm hoping to go to Quebec in January to begin French language school.  I hope to speak to most of you individually about joining my ministry team; please pray about how you might support God's work in Niger!

I have a potential buyer coming to look at the condo on Sunday; please pray for favor in her eyes!

There was some time for R&R at SIM training, which was refreshing.
Please pray that I can keep a good balance of things moving forward. Please pray for all of the classes that I have to complete. I'm starting a new part- time position next week so I hope to concentrate on those after I've settled in at Residential Home Health.

"Staring at the edge of water"

Well, after 12+ hours of travel (boo, thunderstorms), I'm here at SIM USA headquarters for training. Please pray for my next 8 days of preparations!

Hello again, O'Hare!

So I've been reflecting on my calling and convictions in anticipation of this week. One of my favorite methods of self-reflection, of course, is watching Disney movies. 😆 My new favorite is "Moana." (If you haven't seen it yet, drop everything and find it immediately.) I have watched this movie three times and I cry every time. I realized that this is because "I. Am. Moana." Her story and her passion totally resonates with me. Here is a sneak peek in case you're not familiar: "How far I'll go"
There is an even more powerful song at the climax of the movie, but I don't want to ruin it for y'all. Just go watch it! And then pray and consider: does God want me to stay on this island (comfort zone), or is He calling me out there somewhere? It doesn't have to be overseas, it could be to encourage a coworker, make more time for relationships, share with a neighbor,  or change jobs. "If you want to walk on water, you've got to get out of the boat!" (John Ortberg)

To conclude, here's my favorite OT joke:
